Beatriz Vicente

Beatriz Vicente is an artist originally from Spain and now based in Virginia, USA. Her calligraphy journey began 15 years ago when she created birthday cards for one of her children, discovering a love for uncial script and the peaceful rhythm of writing by hand. At the time, she was working in advertising and raising her three children—but calligraphy quickly became an essential creative outlet. While her early focus was on pointed pen scripts, her interests have expanded over the years to include broad pen styles such as Italic, Fraktur, and Gothic scripts. Despite this evolution, she still begins each day with Spencerian drills to maintain her rhythm and continues to pursue learning annually through workshops and ongoing study.
