From the Artist
“Calligraphy is both a form of meditation on the written word and a demanding taskmaster - infuriating but so satisfying when you achieve the result you hope for!”

ARTWORK | The Seasons
A reflection of our year. The things I’d like to remember from 2020. Not the pandemic, which has been (and continues to be) grim on so many levels, but the joy we have found in the wildlife seen in our little patch of rural England and sometimes a bit further afield. From January, clockwise - the barn owl we see hunting at dawn - Brimstone, the first butterfly we see each spring - a ‘mad’ March hare - the swallow who arrives in April - a red squirrel- a bee on a dog rose - an otter (we saw otter footprints locally this year, although we watched this guy playing in the kelp in Scotland) - a dragonfly - a wood mouse who finished his snack and cleaned his whiskers as we watched - a red deer stag (Scotland again) - a barnacle goose who flew from Svalbard to winter in the U.K. and a robin for the festive season. The flowers in the border change with the changing seasons.
