Stephanie Byrd
Stephanie Byrd, a calligraphy teacher at the Multnomah Arts Center in Portland, USA, began studying calligraphy in 2010 with Carol DuBosch. She has since taken many classes with local and international teachers, and attended numerous international calligraphy conferences.
Stephanie has exhibited her works in many shows hosted by Portland Society for Calligraphy in which she has served on the Board of Directors, and continues to be an active volunteer.
She enjoys studying medieval manuscripts and the history of calligraphy. She takes a special interest in the Insular Majuscule script used in the Book of Kells and other insular manuscripts. She also enjoys combining texts that interact with each other either intentionally or unintentionally. Her most recent focus in on making artists' books.
