An online exhibition showcasing works created by ten mentees in four mentoring groups led by An Vanhentenrjik, Carol DuBosch, Gabriela Soba, Marina Soria. They will be sharing their creative and mentoring journeys in the exhibition, Symbiosis III | The Mentoring Journey.
The Art of Letters Mentoring Initiative
In 2021, The Art of Letters launched a mentoring initiative with four mentor-mentee groups. This developmental mentoring focuses on catalyzing the growth of the artists in particular aspects, and where "hierarchy" is not significant as collaborative learning. The mentoring goal is to facilitate growth, elevate skills, knowledge or understanding in specific areas. We now welcome four mentor-mentee groups this November 2023 for Symbiosis III - The Mentoring Journey.
About Symbiosis III | The Mentoring Journey
The mentors and mentees in The Art of Letters Mentoring Initiative have spent the greater part of 2023 experimenting, learning, exploring, and producing art. Their months of hard work culminate in Symbiosis III | The Mentoring Journey, an online exhibition featuring their journeys from ideation, through the creative processes to the finished works of both mentors and mentees, from 24th November to 10th December 2023.
The word ‘Symbiosis’ was chosen as it best describes the mutually beneficial nature of the mentor-mentee relationship wherein they inspire, nurture and amplify each other’s creative energy.
In conjunction with the exhibition, we will also host workshops, demos, write-togethers and meet-the-mentors and meet-the-artists sessions.
The sharing of the mentoring and learning journeys will enrich our community and hopefully inspire other collaborative learning relationships.

Led by Carol DuBosch (@caroldubosch): Arlene Custock, Cosmas Adrian, and Eleanor Curtin are seeking personal breakthroughs in melding their love for traditional calligraphy with personal expression and themes.

On 3rd Dec 2023 9PM (GMT+8), we will have a ‘live’ online auction happening on Zoom where you will be able to bid for and purchase original artworks by our mentors, mentees, as well as other artists.
On the 8th Dec 2023 9:30AM (GMT+8) a series of auction pieces will be shared on The Art of Letters Instagram page and will be available for 24 hours only. Bid for your favourite pieces on Instagram!
