About the artist
A graduate in Visual Communication Design, Cosmas has been interested in lettering and calligraphy since 2005. But without access to good resources, he was able to start learning calligraphy formally only in 2014. Despite these challenges, he has made great strides in calligraphy and has participated in Di Antara Jeda Calligraphy Exhibition in Jakarta, Indonesia as well as the International Calligraphy Exhibition in Bucharest, Romania in 2019 and 2020. Cosmas is an active member of Kaligrafina, Belmen Indonesia and the Calligraphy Masters. Cosmas' interests are many: broad-edged scripts (Italic, Foundational hand, Blackletter, Uncial, Roman) as well as pointed-pen lettering (Copperplate, Italian Roundhand, and flourishing). He also has interests in drawing, painting, illustration using digital and traditional media (pencils, gouache, acrylic, watercolour).
