Maria Trott
Maria was born in Manly, New South Wales, Australia. Her early schooling introduced her to Italic writing with dip pen and ink, and her natural handwriting remains an adaptation of this script. She later studied at the Randwick School of Graphic Art and the Institute of Technology in Sydney, focusing on typography and photography while working across various art studios. Alongside her calligraphic interests, Maria has developed a broad creative practice as a trained florist, a commissioned portrait painter in oils (animal and human), and an illustrator producing caricatures and playful, expressive art. Her artistic path is shaped by an ongoing commitment to adapting to new technologies, learning continuously, and staying resilient in an ever-changing creative landscape.
