In this work, I tried to express the intensity of Kendo practice through mark-making and expressive writing. Indigo dye was used as it is the colour for dyeing Kendo armour and garments.

About the artist
Kay Sadaoka fell in love with lettering in 2019 and began exploring different techniques and media. She eventually discovered calligraphy, and began honing her skills through online workshops and disciplined practice.
